In order to protect our patients, our clinic is sadly closed for face to face consultations. However, we are still available to help you!
- For our existing clients, if you are just looking for brief free advice about your current exercise programme or self-management strategies, ring us on 01595 747074. We will be delighted to hear from you! Leave us a message and we will call back ASAP.
- We have posted 3 exercise videos on our facebook page, suitable for people who were attending some of our exercise classes, and we will be adding to these in the coming weeks. You can access the videos for free on our facebook page here.
- We can now offer remote consultations via a range of secure online platforms. For anyone who prefers, there is always the good old-fashioned phone! While we obviously can’t offer hands on treatments over the internet, we can usually diagnose, advise on home exercise and self-management strategies, and send you videos or print outs of exercises as well as a report. Contact us to discuss whether that option might work for you. Price will depend on complexity of the problem; we will give you a quote prior to your consultation. For people with MS, the MS Society will fund this service.
To begin with we weren’t sure how remote consultations would work, but we
got this lovely review from Helen Robertson that we would like to share:
“Why do you no joost get your leg amputated and get a false een?” axed my usually sensible daughter.
“Weel, I dunna think it’s dat bad!”
“You wid waak a lot better wi a new leg.”
“Hmm, I dunna think waaking wi a false leg is as aisy as it looks!”
So, I made an appointment wi Margaret Gear at Yasp to see if I could do something about my crap leg. I’ve been hauling it around ahint me fur da past few years and it wis getting nae better. Unfortunately face to face appointments were cancelled (due to the Corona pandemic) and I was offered a remote consultation. I detest video call, face time, skype etc and asked for a simple phone call instead. I hid myself in the back bedroom for peace and after a few easy questions Margaret was able to give me a really simple exercise to do. That was on a Friday. By Tuesday I was prancing (not henklin) around the Brae Coop. I am delighted! My family are amazed. I’ve not walked this easily for about 2 years.
In short, I have a new leg and it’s all thanks to a phone call from Margaret!
Take care everyone!
